A little Introduction Part.2

I know that posting new entries at regular basis is like blogging 101, and I know that I have failed to fulfill this rule from the very beginning (not a reassuring thought), but I do have my excuses and they’re pretty convincing.
Try picturing endless hours of classes, mixed with more endless hours of rehearsals for an upcoming university event. Now, add to the mix a frightening deadline looming in the horizon (queue in the guilt for wasting time on reality shows, while I should be reading and preparing for the assignment instead). Having course mates with high stress level did not help either. Logging on Facebook was an agonizing and dreadful task, I sign in to read statuses and conversations between my course mates, on how stressed they are, not because they are running behind, or they are not too sure of what they have to write, but because they have so much information and they cannot possibly mention it all within the word limit (-_-). To make matters even worse, my laptop broke down and I had to replace the hard drive, which of course meant I lost all my data, and since I am not a believer of periodically backing-up my system, because I am a “this could never happen to me” type of a person entailed that I had to re-download every single software that I use. This wouldn't have been a problem if the Internet in my flat wasn't broken, and it wasn't physically painful to sit down and wait for the Google homepage to load.

So after this series of misfortunate events, I hope I have justified my case and can be forgiven for my sloppiness. Now of course I am not dedicating an entire post about my hardships, the purpose of this entry is to introduce the blog properly after I have introduced myself in the previous one.

A Pink State of Mind is a lifestyle blog. Belonging to this “genre” of blogs provide me with great flexibility. Because it is a blog about a lifestyle, more specifically MY lifestyle, hence I can talk about my interests, activities, obsessions, and even bitch and moan if I wish to (I promise to try and keep that to a minimum). To make things easier for everyone and myself I will present two lists. The first will include all the stuff you won’t find in this blog, while the second is about the things you can anticipate to see in the future.

Things you will not find:
* Make-up tips: please, don’t get me wrong, I am a girly girl (in case you have not reached this conclusion from the name and color scheme of the blog), and I do take care of myself, and I make considerable amount of investment in make-up and beauty products, but I only know to do the basic stuff of concealing the bad spots on the face, a bit of blush (or sometimes clown-like cheeks, especially when the lights in the room are not good), and the occasional lipstick. I can manage to make myself look good, but can never teach or give anyone advise on how to do so.
*Do-it yourself crafts: Remember in my last post how I mentioned I have two left feet? Well the same applies to my hands.  I am not artistic, and have no proper sense of measurements and dimensions. Besides, I belong to the school of thought of “if you can buy it ready-made, why even bother!”
* Fitness advice: Even though I have recently made a conscious decision of a leading a healthier lifestyle, which includes working out as much as possible,  still I am not in any position to start preaching people on how to become more fit, and motivate them to hit the gym. So rest assured I won’t bring that up.
*Cooking recipes: If you consider de-frosting ready-made meals as cooking, then I am the master of the kitchen. However; since we live in such a cruel world, where the natural talent of popping something out of the oven at the right time is not considered to be a top-chef qualification, then I am in no position able to bestow my priceless knowledge on you.

Now, for the fun bit, what you are to expect from this blog:
*Books/ Movies reviews: Since reading books and watching movies are two of my favorite hobbies; it would be a safe assumption that you will see several of such posts. I get really attached, enthusiastic and sometimes critical about what I read/watch. I know it sounds weird, but I always seem to see a little bit of myself in a character from a book/movie and it makes me get personal (yay fun stuff).
*Recent obsessions: Hello! I am a shopaholic, so it is only natural that I share with you my latest obsessions, so that I can obsess about it even more, and provide justifications of why I must have what I want, and show how much I need it. Only to forget about it later, as I get distracted with a newer thing that I MUST have.
If you want to stay updated about my most recent obsessions you can follow me at Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/apinkstatemind/).
*Interesting stuff I come across: Since I am a random person, and my attention span is pretty short, I get interested into the most random things, and I tend to try to know as much as possible about them. So my promise to you is that whenever I get intensely interested in something weird I will share it with you.
*Life experiences: after all it IS a lifestyle blog, so I need to share some experiences. I promise to pick and choose the really nice interesting things, and to stir away from the boring, mediocre everyday occurrences.
* Bitching and nagging: as minimal as possible. But let’s be honest, letting off some steam every now and then is a healthy way to get rid of stress, so please do me a favor and allow me to nag and moan from time to time to get the negativity out of my system.

One last thing I want to mention- before this entry gets too long, that you decide to give up on it at first glance- is to explain the meaning of the blog’s name.
I chose the color pink, because it is my favorite  and it is my favorite because it is associated with a lot of beautiful meanings and thoughts for me.

When I see the color pink, I think happiness, innocence, purity, hope and love. This color represents everything beautiful to me. You cannot see something in pink and think it is bad or ugly or negative, go on try it and report back to me if you succeed.
That is why I decided to call my blog a pink state of mind, because it means a positive, beautiful, pure and optimistic state of mind. Everything that I hope to portray in this blog.

So until next time
Stay pink…..

A Little Introduction

Hello! And welcome to my blog!

This blog has been an idea in the making for several years now. However; being the
procrastinator that I am, it hasn't been brought to life until now.
For my first post I have decided to introduce myself, as a way of breaking the ice, and providing a sample of what you might expect to see in this blog in the future.

Describing oneself is always a tricky business. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy talking about
myself as much as the next person( let's face reality, who doesn't like a little "it is all
about me " moment every now and then), but thinking of what to say about myself took me
a while, and I finally decided to make the task a little bit easier by making a list and mentioning ten random,
oh-so-interesting facts about me.
So here we go:

1) I am addicted to Reality Television. Ever since MTV aired Laguna Beach in 2006, and
my life was never the same again. You can say it is my guilty pleasure, and of course,
the trashier the better ( something along the lines of Jersey Shore and Geordie Shore).

2) I have the attention span of a gold fish. Therefore, having lists is an integral daily
survival tool of mine.

3) I am the most pessimist, cynical person you could possibly meet ever.
Imagine someone asking the rhetorical question:" can this day get any worse?", now imagine me popping in the background  listing all the possible worse things that could actually happen (if only I can do this for a living). However; I have recently made a conscious decision to let go of my old destructive, habits and try become a more positive, optimistic person. Because leading a life of negativity proved to be a

difficult and not enjoyable way of living.

4) I may not seem like the brightest bulb in the room, but you ought to know that I have two
bachelor degrees ( in English Literature, and Marketing), one MSc degree in Marketing
and Strategy, and currently studying for my second masters in Management and
Organisational Analysis. All this and I am a young soul of less than 25 years.

5) I have an obsession with shoes. While shopping, I can resist the allure of clothes and
other vanity products, but not shoes. When I see a perfect pair of heels, a magnetic-like
force start pulling me towards it, and there is nothing I can do but cave in to the power.

6) I can't dance even if my life depended on it. Of course, my two naturally left feet never
stopped me from teaching random strangers how to Doggie, or most recently how to Gangnam Style. I am shameless.

7) I am a book worm. Reading is my favorite hobby, and not only because it does not
require any form of physical effort, but also because it takes me to magical and enchanted
places. I feel a great sense of accomplishment every time I finish reading a book and I add
it to my slowly-growing personal library (Yes, I am old school when it comes to books, I
buy actual, tangible ones).

8) I have an inclination towards the dramatic. Anything can be turned into a dramatic
scene starring me. But in my defense  how can we enjoy life without adding a little bit of salt and spice to it?

9) I cannot emphasize enough my love towards routines and schedules. I go into a state
of internal panic if I don't have a daily routine planned out. Don't get me wrong, I am a
daredevil, and love having a good time and trying new things. As long as they have been
penciled into my schedule.

10) Just in case you have not noticed, my favorite color is pink.

Hope I haven't scared you away yet.
Until next time....
xoxo
